INTRODUCTION
PTV Sports was launched as a specialized 24/7 serious channel mostly based on the syndicated live international events and acquisition of other such resource on January 11th, 2012. The supplementary programming included pre and post match analysis and the channel immediately made its impact.

PTV Sports promos, fillers and ID's became a source of attraction and created it's own niche revered and appreciated not only within the country but outside as well. The peculiar scripts delineating aesthetics, mechanics, kinetics and philosophy of sports, the channel has not been traditional, it has been something different becoming part of country's sports culture.
With the recent change in PTV top management, now PTV Sports is being re directed more towards taking it to the door steps of common people, and to look like a national channel and not sticking to it's original pedigree. This is in itself recognition of how important the local viewers remain to the state broadcaster. The changing trends, more vibrant programming and based on virtual reality are now in the offing.
