Some models of TV receivers give you the opportunity to browse the Internet and get access to IPTV.
IPTV, which stands for Internet Protocol Television, is a system through which television services are delivered using the Internet protocol, instead of being delivered through traditional formats (Direct-To-Home or Digital Terrestrial Television).
IPTV required a strong Internet connection in order to allow the streaming of the TV channels you want to watch. IPTV can be a complementary solution in Nigeria as the Internet data plan are still expensive compared to developed countries. It can indeed be an alternative solution in order to watch your favorite programs during the heavy raining times.
As of today, a few models of TV Satellite Receivers which allow IPTV are available on the Nigerian Market. Some of the Q-Sat receivers as well as the STRONG receivers (SRT 4930L, SRT 4922/A, SRT 4950H)have this feature. Those receivers have already a built-in IPTV channel list, however you can added more channels if you want, and it’s FREE.
How to proceed to add new IPTV Channels on your STRONG Receiver ?
- As usual, please make sure your receiver is updated with the latest STRONG software. You can click here to download the latest software.
- Go Menu, then Entertainment, then IPTV
- Press F2 on your remote control. A pop-up will open:
- Insert the channel name as well as the URL of the channel you want to watch.
