    Just like we have Indian Premier League or IPL in India, there is Ram Slam T20 Challenge in South Africa which is administered by Cricket South Africa. It is a T20 format tournament which was started in 2003-04 and was known as the Standard Bank Pro20 Series. The name was later changed to MiWay T20 Challenge for 2011-12 season and now it is worldwide famous as Ram Slam T20 Challenge. Dolphins are the defending champion of this tournament. Ram Slam T20 2015/2016 Edition will start from November 1, 2015. Final of this edition will be played on 12th December 2015.

    The tournament started with six teams but Zimbabwe took part as the seventh team in 2007-2008 edition.  However, for this year’s edition, only six teams are participating in this tournament which are:
    1. Cape Cobras: This team represents Cape Town and Paarl cities of South Africa. They have won this tournament in 2008-09 and 2010-11 and are two times runner ups. Justin Ontong is the current captain of the team while it is coached by Paul Adams. The key players include Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Kieron Pollard and Dale Steyn.
    2. Dolphins: Dolphins is the defending champion of Ram Slam T20 Challenge and represents two cities which are Durban and Pietermaritzburg. They are two times champion and two times runner ups. Morne Van Wyk is the current captain of the team while it is coached by Lance Klusner. The key players of the team include Imraan Khan, David Miller, Dwayne Bravo and Imran Tahir.
    3. Knights: Previously known as Eagles, this team represents Bloemfontein and Kimberley cities. They have won the tournament for two times and were the runner ups for two times. The team is captained by Warner Coetsee and is coached by Sarel Cilliers. The key players include Andre Russell, Reeza Hendricks and Rilee Rossouw.
    4. Highveld Lions: They represent Johannesburg and Potchefstroom cities. They are the two times champion and two times runner ups. The team is captained by Stephen Cook and Geoffrey Toyana is coach of the team. The key players include Quinton de Kock, Chris Gayle and Lonwabo Tsotsobe.
    5. Titans: Titans is the only team in Ram Slam T20 challenge who has won the tournament for three times. They are also one time runner ups and represent the Centurion city. It is coached by Rob Walter and captained by Henry Davis. The key players include AB de Villiers, Albie Morkel, Darren Sammy, Morne Morkel and R. van der Merwe.
    6. Warriors: Previously known as Eastern Cape, this team represent East London and Port Elizabeth. They have won the tournament for only one time and are three times runner ups. It is captained by Colin Ingram and coached by Malibongwe Maketa. The key players include Wayne Parnell, Juan Theron and Gurshwin Rabie.
    Venues of Ram Slam T20 Challenge
    1. Boland Park, Paarl: It is the home ground of Cape Cobras and has a total capacity of 10,000. It hosted three matches of 2003 cricket world cup.
    2. Buffalo Park, East London: It has a total capacity of 20,000 and it is the home ground of team Warriors. It has hosted many one day matches and one test match.
    3. Chevrolet Park, Bloemfontein: It is the home ground of team Knights and has a total capacity of 20,000. It has hosted many ODIs, Test matches and T20s.
    4. Diamond Oval, Kimberley: It is a multipurpose ground with a seating capacity of 11,000. It is the home ground of Knights and it hosted 3 matches of Cricket World Cup 2003.
    5. Kingsmead, Durban: This popular cricket ground is the home ground of current Ram Slam champions, Dolphins. It has a seating capacity of 25,000.
    6. Newlands, Cape Town: It is the oldest rugby ground in South Africa which is now used for cricket. It has a seating capacity of 51,900 and is the home ground of Cape Cobras.
    7. Senwes Park, Potchefstroom: This is the home ground of Highveld lions.
    8. St. George’s Park, Port Elizabeth: It is one of the oldest ground of the country and is the home ground of team warriors.
    9. Supersport Park, Centurion: It is a small park with a seating capacity of 22,000 and is the home ground of team Titans.
    10. The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg: It is one of the most popular stadium of South Africa with a seating capacity of 34,000. It is the home ground of Highveld Lions.
    11. Willowmoore Park, Benoni: It is a small ground with seating capacity of 20,000
